The Library and the English Department organised an eagerly anticipated Inter-school Interpretive Reading Competition on 9 March to share the joy of reading, marking the fifth annual competition ever since the pandemic. S.K.H Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School, SKH Bishop Mok Sau Tseng Secondary School, Tack Ching Girls’ Secondary School, Tai Kwong Hilary College joined us for this event. Six distinguished guests from different organisations were invited to serve as esteemed judges. The presence of Principal Kwok, who graciously accepted the role of award presenter, added prestige to the event, acknowledging the students’ remarkable contributions.
Students chose the reading material they liked and aloud to the judges. Judges assessed their performance based on criteria such as clarity of diction, presentation skills and their interpretation of the authors’ intent. This meaningful competition provided an invaluable learning experience for the students to enhance their reading skills and foster a deeper appreciation for literature.
